Switched Discharge Device for Enhanced Energy Extraction from Li-Ion 18650

All autonomous electrically powered devices require a continuous power supply from batteries. Increasing the discharge performance is top priority in Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery field and pulsed proving numerous advantages. In this paper, maximum efficiency of method on constant load while cells are alternately switched with dead-time thoroughly studied. Therefore, novel Li-Ion charge/discharge measurement device (SWD) using fast switching MOSFET was designed fabricated. The can switch up to 8.3 kHz two 18650 batteries, generating programmable monitor parameters that impact capacity battery. An EIS (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) analysis employed evaluate impedance behavior at frequencies 10 kHz. Experimental results reveal time determined when frequency 5.8 As consequence, total batteries single cycle increased by 16.6%. Pulsed visible starting 70% State Charge (SOC) correlated rest time, reduced heat loss inductance, respectively.
